With the new Iraqi government under Prime Minister Ali Falih al-Zaidi and Oil Minister Basim Mohammed Khudair Al-Abadi, cooperation with German industry is high on the agenda.

Philippe Steiner, in his role as NUMOV Vice President,  had the opportunity to discuss further strengthening the partnership between German and Iraqi companies during the Iraqi delegation’s visit to Berlin.

At the same time, through our family-owned company SPG Steiner GmbH, we aim to make a tangible contribution to energy security and energy efficiency.

Iraq continues to flare approximately 17 billion cubic metres of gas annually – a valuable energy resource that could instead be utilised for power generation, industrial applications and, potentially, future exports.

As a specialised engineering and EPC company serving the energy and petrochemical industries, our core competencies include Flare Systems & Flare Gas Recovery, Low-Temperature & Cryogenic Energy Storage, Energy Distribution, and Modular Gas Processing Solutions.
This presents tremendous potential to transform currently wasted energy into economic value, strengthen energy resilience and build sustainable energy infrastructure.

By combining German technology and engineering expertise with flexible solutions, local value creation, knowledge transfer and long-term partnerships, we see significant opportunities to contribute to Iraq’s energy transformation.
